Viewing Notes

Finally got to see this in a theater as part of AMC’s classic screening series and it did not disappoint! It was great to watch it with a mixed crowd of people who had and had not seen it before. Seeing people jump in their seats was worth the price of admission all on its own!

As was the case with The Godfather, I noticed a lot of smaller details that I never picked up on the many times I’ve watched this on DVD and Blu-ray.

I think most of my audience had seen the film but still a few people jumped or gasped during those moments. Great to see on the big screen finally! If there was an opportunity to see a print of this I’d go again.

I’d love to see a 35mm print of this, but until then the digital will have to do. I just felt like a kid again being able to see this in a theater! Was too young when it originally came out (at least according to my parents, who never took us to see movies in the theater anyway).
