Korengal picks up where Restrepo left off; the same men, the same valley, the same commanders, but a very different look at the experience of war.

The fact that this didn’t feel like a piece of compelling journalism probably says more about America’s weariness with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan than it does about the film itself.
Despite that there are some sobering bits scattered throughout the tedium of waiting around to die. Mainly I kept wondering how these soldiers, many barely out of childhood, were going to fit back into society upon their return. And what kind of mental health support system they’ll find when they try to.

I still haven’t seen Restrepo but I’m guessing that’s a better film than this one?

I liked Restrepo but I had similar feelings, though to a lesser degree, for it as I did this one.
