Viewing Notes

Our third DFF film of the day. Pretty packed, and mixed, crowd, only about half of which had even seen a Noe film before. No one walked out though even though it was a 3D screening!

Very graphic, obviously, but really tastefully done. The film mocks itself, and the filmmaker, and perhaps even the audience, at various points. That makes it hard to take the intent too seriously and left me feeling a little flat by the end, even though I could appreciate the self-deprecating tone.

While it wasn’t passionless, the sex scenes really started to lose their power by the end of the film.

Hahaha! I wrote nearly the same thing before I saw your notes.
