Dick died last night, and Zeke and Earl don’t want anybody finding out how. That’s too bad though, cause news travels fast in small-town Alabama.

Not at all what I was expecting. Less a comedy and more of an evisceration of masculinity and southern stereotypes.
There was only one other person there besides us.

Curious what you were expecting… kinda figured ppl wouldn’t come out to see this, which sucks. Plays so well with a big crowd.

I figured it’d be more focused on a comedy of errors. It kind of is, but mostly I just felt bad for Earl’s increasingly stupid decisions. I could see where this would play different at FF than in an empty theater.

In chatting w/Brad afterwards, we were relishing in how it’s played straight yet each bad decision snowballs as it goes along making it amusing and eliciting a fun crowd reaction. Kinda like how you described the wave of reaction during Saint Maud, it was like that in our theater when another reveal would happen as it gets closer to the finale. Like holy shit what the fuck is happening.
Interestingly it’s screening for free at DePaul this week. I kinda want to go just to see how that audience reacts.

Yeah, I really wish I’d seen it at FF with an audience!
