Overview

In 1825, Clare, a 21-year-old Irish convict, chases a British soldier through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for a terrible act of violence he committed against her family. She enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker who is also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past.

A sobering, maybe harrowing, watch that presents its subject matter with seriousness and a nuanced, layered approach that does it all justice. Nothing and no one is left unscathed or implicated.

Glad I got to see this at IFS.

It was interesting watching with a crowd. There were some definite gasp/cringe moments for the audience. I was certainly more prepared than most everyone else.
