My first Mubi film! I wanted to watch this before it fell off the service in a day or two. Not what I thought it was going to be when I chose it but still an interesting film that draws you in mainly on the strengths of it’s main character, Janina Duszejko, a semi-retired English teacher living in the countryside by herself, played by Agnieszka Mandat, who does a great job with a complex character whose motivations are sometimes conflicted.

As a Alamo Drafthouse Victory member one of the perks was a free 90 day trial of Mubi which expired on the 5th, so I decided why not!

Oh i didn’t know there was an expiration so soon! Good thing to jump on it. I’ve enjoyed having it esp since I don’t have Criterion Channel.
