I’d read a little about this so I knew what not to expect, and honestly for once that probably helped since I was able to settle in for a uniquely paranoid ride. I loved this movie! Hardy really sells the role, which is good because he’s pivotal throughout and nothing else would work without him. This is probably the best downfall of a gangster movie I’ve seen, showing a decaying shell of a man careening through the last vestiges of his humanity.
Hardy is the syphilitic, diaper-shitting, tommy gun blazing, hallucinatory Capone we needed and a perfect symbol of our current presidency.

Hahahahaha that final sentence is an all-timer!
I too have read plenty both positive and negative but I’m feeling like I’m gonna lean more in this direction of enjoying this flick.

Yeah, I think you’ll like it! You just have to settle in for the ride and it’s not a movie you want to watch while tired.
