Viewing Notes

I think my opinion of this movie improves each time I view it. Last time was 3 years ago at G-FEST and I enjoyed more that time as well. Could be viewing on the big screen. Tonight’s viewing was unusually somber. Less cheers than normal as though everyone was really absorbed into the screening.

Great to have the intro by Tsutomu “Tom” Kitagawa who was the Godzilla in this movie as well as Shinichi Wakasa, the creator of the Godzilla suit. Kitagawa mentioned that for the final battle they employed some “ninja” moves, which was more apparent on this viewing.

I like how the film flirts with the horror elements. Would have been cool to see them take that further. Love the setting of Tokyo Bay and Odaiba. This might be my second favorite of the Millennium series.
