Viewing Notes

Welcome to my top ten of 2014!

This is Bourne Identity in S.Korea. Fast edits and crazy chase scenes all framed in the usual espionage and betrayal. If you want more than that, look elsewhere. Also Gong Yoo is ripped. Never would have expected he could pull off this role but he does.

Wow, that good? I’ll have to see if it’s screening around here.

I think so. Check if an AMC is screening it. Usually one theater in every major market will have the Korean film. I definitely thought of you while watching. Still need to add my notes but it’s like Bourne Identity in S.Korean including an insane car chase.

But… since I haven’t seen 10 new movies yet in 2014 it’s pretty easy to get into my top 10. ;-)

Apparently I’m entirely wrong on this one. Just read the viewer comments at Letterboxd; I’m the only one that likes this movie of the 9 that have logged it. Guess I’m an easy mark for movies like this. Ah well. If it sticks around for another week I’ll probably see it again.

Which means I’ll probably like it a lot!

I do agree they go overboard on the edits but I do like the ambition of them going for it as well as the character interplay between the leads. It won’t be the worse thing you’ll see out of South Korea anyways. ;-)
