Finally watching this so I can see the sequel, the number one movie in the world for two weeks in a row. Didn’t realize that Adkins was the bad guy so that already makes me unhappy. Also that CG wolf scene is dodgy af.
okay remove that wolf scene for a 6/10. lots of silly stuff of which that scene with the crime lord standing there while his band of mercs comes to save him is so fucking dumb and worst of it. The melodrama and goofy dialogue doesn’t bother me; it’s a lot like Jackie Chan flicks in that way and a big influence on Wu Jing. I just hate how the mercs are portrayed and that Adkins is a bad guy. It’s like “let’s spend some time to get to know these guys” who will eventually kill a bunch of the Wolf Warriors. Weird.
Overall this is fine but nothing special which is why I’m super curious as to how / why the sequel is blowing up.

I was pretty disappointed by this. Hard to imagine the sequel is doing so well!

Yes I’m baffled by it as well which is why I want to go see it, especially since I didn’t hear good things about WW1 and why I put off viewing it. I saw that you watched it twice (Tonia’s pick, eh?) but gave it only a 4. Guess you really didn’t like it.

Yeah, I forgot I’d watched it before and Tonia picked it so we watched it again. Still didn’t like it.
