Nicolas Cage film series continue with this… Christian faith fantasy thriller? Wows
As far as Christian scare movies go, this one isn’t that bad. It’s not great but at least it’s watchable thanks largely to Cage and a decent cast around him. If the movie wasn’t so heavy-handed with the sub-plotting and dialogue this could’ve been a decent thriller w/religious foreshadowing. Instead it has dialogue like “I was an awful person that only thought of myself and making more money. But now I understand that’s not our true purpose and we need to love each other etc.” Yuck.
Again I watched all the actor interviews in the extras. Cage says he felt this would be a challenging role bc of the circumstances of the story. Also fascinating to hear the other actors talk about working with Cage having grown up on his films and it being such an honor.

It’s not that bad just very in your face w/the Christianity rapture stuff. It gets real corny w/all that.
