Viewing Notes

Only in four theaters in all of Chicago so doing a $6 Tuesday to grab it before it leaves. Note: 4 people walked out about half way into this (old white people).

This movie really did a number on me. One of the best films of the year.

A day later and I’m still thinking about this movie. Man, what a mindfuck. Still enamored w/the beauty of it being shot on 35mm, which captures a warmth that is juxtaposed with the callousness of the characters. Adds the unsettling nature of the story and general tension that threads through the story.

I’m considering starting my favorites / top 25 list now so I can include this.

I completely missed this when it first came out. In light of the director doing CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD I guess I should seek this one out so I can see one of his good movies.

Definitely worth watching. Every once in a while it pops back into my head. Would be a good revisit for me almost six years later esp. given the lower ratings it has now. Like, maybe was wrong. Also, didn’t realize this was the same director as Cloverfield Paradox and CA: BNW. ::stunned emoji::
