Really good film that I’m close to labeling a comedy in addition to being a wonderful action adventure flick. Also the swingin’ sixties score set over this Edo Period piece is awesome. Yuriko Hoshi really shines in this role, which may be the best character she’s done that I’ve seen. This movie definitely deserves a great home video release.
Oh shit. Just read the movie description from TMDb. That’s really not correct at all. Here’s a better synopsis: Two rogue samurai pose as farmers to join with peasant tribe. A con-artist traveling with them convinces the tribe to transport 300 rifles. Same con-artist convinces a clan of pirates to transport the same 300 rifles. While this is happening a clan of Ninja are hunting one of the rogue samurai. All of these clans come to a head in the finale. Not only is this a fun movie it’s has some really nice camera work / angles.
I would watch this many times if I owned it.
