Viewing Notes

Holy shit I cannot believe this was shot entirely on IMAX cameras.

This is one of those movies that I really want to dig into the BTS extras and hope there’s a lot of them. I’m super curious how they made this movie esp. w/the IMAX cameras in those tight areas.

I almost went to see this in Dolby not knowing this was an IMAX movie.

It was really fun discussing this with Gavin afterwards, being the camera nerd that he is now. And both of us were like “yeah, cannot WAIT to dig into BTS stuff for this!” We saw it in Atmos but pretty sure we’re gonna do the IMAX screening of it this week as well.

Would absolutely recommend seeing it IMAX before it leaves! I honestly didn’t know this was shot in IMAX as I haven’t heard/read about it being the case. Was very surprised when the movie started and it filled the huge screen. I haven’t seen the trailers so maybe it’s mentioned there but I would think this would be something to promote the movie. And it’s not just a few segments but the entire film. I remember when it was super challenging to do this (around the time The Dark Knight was released) so it was even more impressive for this movie.

We didn’t know it was shot in IMAX until the tail end of the credits where it listed the cameras used in the production. None of the marketing materials/trailers I saw made mention of it being shot in IMAX as far as I can recall.
