Viewing Notes

“Watch Movies Now” is doing a free broadcast of this movie on YT. I believe this is a giallo homage which is why I wanted to tune in.

I like this! It’s a neat Argentine take on gialli films incorporating much of the mystery and style including the poorly dubbed English. Made me want to view THE EDITOR again. They do a good job of re-creating that period feel of 1970s but there are a few things that I wish they had reconsidered like the bar / tavern that clearly is a modern brewpub and very anachronistic for the intent. I mean, there has to be some older bars / pubs in the city they shot this (I’m guessing it was a freebie location to use).

While I appreciate a movie that doesn’t overstay its welcome, this one is actually too short for what its attempting to accomplish. It’s less than 70 minutes w/o the credits. It’s listed as 90min on IMDb so I wonder if there is a longer cut that features more violence / sex b/c this version they broadcast on YT felt very sanitized, i.e. very PG13.

I’d like to watch this again if there is a longer cut and definitely view more films by these filmmakers.
