Viewing Notes

Wow this movie. Somehow this movie has alluded me over the years and I’ve just forgotten about it. Caught my eye yesterday at the library so I gave it a spin. So over-the-top from the acting to the gunfights. Must have been a lot of hearing loss back in the day ;) — it’s as if Walter Hill said “sure we can remake YOJIMBO but let’s drop all the subtleties and turn it up to eleven!”

David Patrick Kelly is hilarious. Plenty of great actors here including Leslie Mann who was a surprise. Also back when Bruce Willis actually gave a shit and was legit cool on screen. Amazing he was 41 years old when this was released. I like Walken a lot, too, but Hickey shoulda just walked away at the end. He ain’t win that draw with a gun already pointed at him. (Love all the Chicago nods)

Amusing to me to view this only a couple days after WRATH OF MAN. This is another one of *those* movies. Hahaha
