Viewing Notes

Wish I had caught this one last month as it is perfect for spooky month! Supernatural tale of ghosts and revenge and rich people living on the coast. This is a very nice transfer on Prime so I wonder if this was recently restored and released. It was not even listed in Movielogr yet despite being almost 60 years old. Martin Landau is the part-time paranormal detective and Diane Baker is the wealthy wife of the uber rich eccentric blind dude. She has a great face.

The description here isn’t entirely accurate. The rich blind dude is being haunted by the telephone connected to his dead mom’s tomb. So ghost detective is hired to investigate.

Kino Lorber released this a few years ago so my guess is the digital version on Amazon is sourced from that. I’ve almost bought this a few times.

oh wow I didn’t know! Yeah I would get this in one of their sales. Was odd not to find a movie this old and starring Landau not in ML so wondered if it was a recent find / restoration.

Yeah, that is weird! I think my old code didn’t do as good of a job of adding movies as the new code does.
