Overview

Happy Independence Day with this perfectly engineered movie. Give the filmmakers from Kosinski on down all the props for executing and delivering this pure formula film experience. Critics often knock the crowd pleasers for being too formulaic but seventy to eighty percent of films are adhering to some formula defined by the genre but so few actually succeed.
It takes all components— screenplay, direction, editing, actors— working together to make something great. When it happens it deserves praise. Ofc not everyone has to like the material or final product but cannot deny the craft to reach levels very few films and filmmakers achieve.
Yes this is what I thought about on my drive home haha
Also Glen Powell is the MVP. Totally nails that character and is the glue for that entire team.
