Viewing Notes

Held out on revisiting this for a potential movie night. Decided it wouldn’t be ideal for that and I am correct. Super slow burn that is way more mood movie, quietly unfolding in this Ghost of Yotsuya reimagining.

I like it and how it intertwines the play with reality. But I get why this isn’t a more popular Miike film; it’s deliberately paced without a drop of humor.

I thought about programming this for my horror movie marathon but decided against it based on the description. Looks like I made the right choice. Still in my to-watch pile for October though.
