Viewing Notes

Trying to watch the rest of Bogliano’s movies, but only this one was available on Netflix Instant that I hadn’t already seen. While the build up for the first two-thirds of the movie feels a little over long, things spin out of control pretty quickly near the end, with disturbingly good results.

I believe this was also a first night midnight screening at FF for me (just as Here Comes the Devil was the following here). I really, really dug this movie at the time (many did not like it). Been wanting to revisit since the moment it was added to NWI. Curious how it will hold up for me.

It has it’s issues, but I really like how quickly it descends into something fairly horrific at the end. I do wish the build up were more suspenseful but it’s easy to see Bogliano’s style emerging in this and subsequent movies. I liked this a lot more than Cold Sweat, which I recall not being very impressed by.
