Viewing Notes
While I love Carpenter’s The Thing, I think Assault on Precinct 13 is probably my favorite movie of his. It’s just such a perfectly encapsulated piece of violence, with a shocking setup. I love the music quite a bit too.
The siege of the precinct house reminds me a bit of Zulu Dawn as well, another favorite movie of mine.
I watched this right after Rubber because the end scene and music of Rubber reminds me a lot of the opening scene and music of this.

Last time I viewed this was at movie night sometime pre-2009. need to track down when that was (actually thought I already had). So for that reason it’s been high on my list to revisit. Esp. now that I’ve seen / revisited most of Carpenter’s oeuvre since then.

Yeah, I thought I’d already logged it too, but I hadn’t. Odd since I could swear I’ve watched it at least once since I started tracking everything.
