Overview

Viewing Notes
Marred by subpar digital FX and dripping in syrupy melodrama, this was a bit of a slog to get through. Poor Shu Qi has very little to do here except pretend to touch some digital screens and talk about how love has no place in war.
Sadly, Godfrey Gao’s last movie before he passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago.

I’ve wanted to see this since it was first announced but I’ve yet to hear anything positive about it so I keep putting it off despite it sitting at the top of my queue. Very sad b/c the premise sounds so good. And it has Shu Qi which would be enough to push up my priority list.

Yeah it’s pretty disappointing. It would have benefited from a much longer running time and a much larger budget. I think the budget was 30,000,000.
