A gorgeous fantasy film from 1950s Russia that focuses on a folk hero. There are some really fun fantasy elements and the optical effects, costuming and practical creatures are all great! Also known as ILYA MUROMETS, which is the title on the Blu-ray I own.

I was thinking of this title by the same director: Magic Voyage of Sinbad (1953), which also needs a good release. I’ve only seen the heavily edited Roger Corman version.

Let’s watch that one at a future movie night. I’m super curious about it bc it has a very low rating at TMDb. How bad can it be??
