Viewing Notes

First film of the last day of Bruce Campbell’s Horror Film Fest. Definitely one I was looking forward to seeing based on the talent involved. Brutal as expected. At least 25 people left in the first 20 minutes. Really cool premise that once it gets going I kinda knew where it would lead to by the end. Not a bad thing. It’s a little too long but still effective in creating a likable yet despicable anti-hero in Nomura (Kazuki Kitamura).

Again, another one I will have to revisit due to all the disruptions and distractions in the screening room at the convention center, which is a terrible venue for a film festival.

Very much a Fantastic Fest type of film. Almost surprised that this wasn’t held for that event because it fits in so well. Sufficiently weird and brutally violent.

25 people left?! LOL! high on my list of movies to see even before that comment!

Wizard World isn’t really the best crowd for this type of film. I figure a lot of people saw it on the agenda and came in to check it out then realized it wasn’t their thing. Def a film more aimed at the FF/SFF type of crowd. People at those festivals wouldn’t walk out on this. But yes, it’s one to see.

Kinda surprised it’s not playing at FF actually.

After seeing this last night I’m really surprised this wasn’t selected for Fantastic Fest. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it show up at SFF next year even though it played at Denver Film Festival.
