Viewing Notes

Holds up surprisingly well esp. for a video game adaptation. That aside (I hadn’t played the game when I originally saw this 13 years ago) the intrigue of Umbrella Corp and Raccoon City with the bursts of action make this one of the more worthy game-to-film conversions. Sure the CG is dodgy by today’s standards but doesn’t detract from the story, character development or the thrills. Even with the action setpieces this still feels so quaint compared to the subsequent installments. Glad PWSA stayed with that original ending.
