MovieLogr has helped me to realize that Johnnie To films are a major blindspot in my viewing. Not even sure why since the early naughts I watched only HK films (almost). Sure, I viewed The Heroic Trio and its sequel Executioners but that was the extent of it. Nothing of Johnnie To’s run from 1995 until now. Yes, I’m just as surprised (Oops, I did buy and watch My Left Eye Sees Ghosts a several years ago but that’s it. Really.) So going into the holidays I figured I’d do a mini Johnnie To project i.e. a film a day between Christmas and New Years. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work as planned so I’ve modified it to a “winter” project. This will give me a little more time to collect the movies I need/want.
Putting a hard stop at 2 months but will likely finish in one month since I only planned to watch 7 films and have already seen five films. Will stretch to ten total but expect to be done by Jan 31.
NOTE: amending this project to include December 2013 as it’s clearly winter and I still have a few more To films to add.
sleestakk logged 12 movies during My Johnnie To Winter. Back to Events Overview.
