DKUTV is continuing with their Godzilla Champion Festival programming for the entire weekend. This weekend they did the 1973 program so this film was included with the truncated version edited down to an hour. I was super curious to view this but then realized that maybe this would have to be in the Japanese language since it was for the festival. I was correct!
For the very first time in my life I got watch this movie in its native Japanese. It was glorious and now I’m considering getting the Toho Films Blu release despite it not having subtitles. Might wait to see if they do the 4K restore like they’ve done with a few other titles.
Anyways this was an incredible Experience. Also the movie still played great cut down to an hour. All the fun action beats and character interaction were still there.
